Account
How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap "Continue with Google". No username or password needed — just your Google account.
Can I use the app without an account?
Yes. Tap "Continue as Guest" on the login screen to browse the map, run the AI planner, and explore nearby places. Sign in anytime to save your passport, itineraries, and XP progress.
How do I delete my account?
Go to the Me tab → scroll to the bottom → tap "Delete Account". This permanently removes your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
My data disappeared after logging out. What happened?
All travel data (visited monuments, cities, XP, itineraries) is tied to your account. Make sure you're logged in with the same Google account or phone number you used originally.
Trip Planning & Itineraries
How does the AI trip planner work?
Go to the Explore tab, search for a country, answer 12 preference questions, select your cities and nights, add optional flight details, and tap Continue. The AI generates a full day-by-day itinerary with real places, timings, and routing tailored to your preferences.
Can I plan a multi-city or multi-country trip?
Yes. In the Explore tab, add multiple countries to your trip. For each country you can set specific cities, nights, and days independently.
Can I edit the itinerary after it's generated?
Yes. Open your saved itinerary and tap the Edit button in the top right. You can add places, remove slots, and adjust timings. You can also regenerate the entire plan with one tap.
The AI itinerary generation is taking too long. Is that normal?
AI generation typically takes 10–20 seconds. If it exceeds 60 seconds or shows an error, check your internet connection and try again. The backend may occasionally take longer on a cold start.
How do I build a trip manually without AI?
On the City Selection screen, tap "Plan it myself". This opens the Manual Planner where you can build your itinerary day by day, city by city, and use the built-in AI assistant for suggestions.
Check-ins, XP & Passport
How do I check in at a monument?
Open the Map tab and walk near a landmark. When you're close enough, the pin will glow blue and a check-in prompt will appear. Tap it to confirm and earn XP. You must be physically near the location — remote check-ins are not supported.
I was at a monument but couldn't check in. Why?
Make sure location permissions are set to "While Using the App" in your device settings. GPS accuracy can vary indoors or in dense urban areas — try stepping outside or moving a few metres and refreshing the map.
What is XP and how do levels work?
Every monument check-in earns 50 XP. Collect 100 XP to level up. Ranks go from Newcomer → Wanderer → Explorer → Adventurer → Globetrotter → Legend.
What are Collection Sets?
Collection Sets are themed groups of monuments — Seven Wonders, Ancient Civilisations, European Capitals, and more. Check in at monuments within a set to complete it. View your progress in the XP panel on the Map screen.
Where is my Digital Passport?
Go to the Me tab → tap "Digital Passport". It shows every country and city you've visited, along with the monuments you've checked in at.
Map & Location
The map isn't showing my location. What should I do?
Check that location permissions are enabled for RoamAndTick in your device Settings → Privacy → Location Services. Select "While Using the App". Then restart the app.
How do I explore nearby places?
On the Map screen, tap any pin to see details. You can also access Explore Nearby Places from within an active itinerary to find restaurants, cafes, bars, and sights near your current location, filtered by your saved preferences.
Friends & Leaderboard
How do I add friends?
Go to the Me tab → tap "Manage Friends". Search for a user by name and send a friend request. Once they accept, you'll see each other on the Friends leaderboard.
Where is the leaderboard?
Open the XP panel by tapping the XP badge on the Map screen. Tap "Ranks" to see the global leaderboard and your friends' rankings.
